Our mission is to cultivate hope and introduce people to true life in Christ by providing the skills, resources, and community of support necessary for life change.
We aim to stop problems before they start, and keep existing challenges from compounding.
We infuse direct services and resources to help people get unstuck now.
We create exponential impact that transforms family trees and strengthens our community’s future through ending generational poverty, restoring dignity, and breaking destructive cycles.

Free handouts and government assistance provide important and necessary short-term help, but they will never create lasting change. We understand life change isn’t fast, and overcoming obstacles is complex. But we believe that together we can overcome all odds.
That’s why we are willing to walk the journey toward life change and stability with our neighbors for as long as it takes. We envision a community where everyone experiences the hope, dignity, and purpose they were created for, and where no one has to walk alone.
Right now, thousands of our neighbors are stuck and struggling. Seeing our neighbors, understanding their needs, and stepping in to help isn’t a burden; it’s an honor.
It’s how we strengthen our community, build our workforce, and help create economic stability for our future.
This means more than 135,900 people cannot afford the basics of housing, child care, food, transportation, and health care.
Many more live just above the poverty line in desperate circumstances.
Our area has many job opportunities, as well as many people needing jobs, but connecting the two requires education and support that are currently missing.
This means they aren’t engaged in the labor market or enrolled in postsecondary education opportunities. If this trend doesn’t change by the time they are 25, statistics show our community will absorb a $500,000 economic hit per student, and their journey will likely be filled with hardship and struggle.
So taking our services on the road to meet people where they are is more important than ever.
For almost two decades, True To Life Ministries (TTLM) has steadfastly and proactively helped students and adults in Brazoria County transition out of poverty and move toward self-sufficiency.
Our team includes program leaders, case managers, facilitators, and professionals who link arms with more than 150 volunteers. Every day, our team goes toe-to-toe with some of our community’s most urgent needs: homelessness, domestic violence, human trafficking, unemployment, underemployment, recent incarceration, and disconnected youth.

We started with a handful of dedicated volunteers brainstorming around a dining room table in 2009. Today, TTLM’s programming has expanded throughout Brazoria County and beyond, and the organization serves as a hub for cross-collaboration between regional stakeholders.
Our philosophy about transitioning out of poverty and overcoming challenging life circumstances isn’t based on good ideas; it’s backed by research and best practices. There are four things that move people out of poverty:
These are the pillars of TTLM’s proven strategies.
